Puerto Vallarta sits on Mexico's Costa Dorada, right in the middle of Banderas Bay -one of the largest and most beautiful in the world- , where the Pacific Ocean washes the border between Jalisco and Nayarit.

Mexico's offcial language is Spanish, yet, in Vallarta you'll find that a higher proportion of people can speak or un-derstand English. Hotels, and services in general have staff that can handle English in a more or less fluent manner, and most tourist guides and brochures include several useful phrases in spanish.

Weather

From October through June, days are usually sunny and dry, with average daytime temperatures of 80 ºF (28-30 ºC), quite comfortable for a stroll on the beach. Coastal breezes blow in from the ocean in the afternoon, providing cooler evenings in winter months.

Nighttime temperatures range from the 60's to the mid 70's (19-24 ºC).

Summers are sunny with afternoon rains, just enough to cool off for evening activities.
